About Me

I am a father to four (2 boys and 2 girls/18, 7, 5, and 3) and a husband to an awesome beautiful wife since 1995. My wife and I struggled with infertility and were blessed to have one child through artificial insemination, two children through embryo adoption, and one child naturally. With three of our children, I was blessed to be part of their births by doing hypnobirth. Everything I do, I do for my family. I am also the oldest of four and my wife is the youngest of eight. I speak Japanese, after serving a mission in Japan for 2 years. I have served as a 911 dispatcher and have built 4 businesses and created entrepreneurial opportunities through the years. I currently have a side hustle selling on Amazon and as a Team Beachbody Coach.

I have served in the Army Reserves, Army National Guard, and Army Active Duty for 28 years and have deployed to 3 different wars. My rank is a Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3 or Chief). Through the Army, I have been Coaching, mentoring, and leading for years. I should have been exercising just as long, but I wasn’t. I plan to retire in 2018 with a total of 30 years of service. As I began to look to retirement, I couldn’t imagine what I would do. I couldn’t imagine not wearing the uniform or the US flag on my shoulder. I couldn’t imagine not serving. I also didn’t want to let my family down. I admit I even cried even considering it.

In September 2014, I saw a picture of myself with a big belly. I didn’t know how unhealthy and overweight I had become. I had made it to 198 lbs., while my normal was 175 lbs. Throughout the years I had tried many diets and supplements to try and control my weight to include Nutrisystem, hydroxycut, green tea extract, and many others supplements with no real success. In December 2014, I determined to lose the weight the right way. My drive was for my family and then my health. I wanted to ensure that I could be healthy, fit, and present for all of our children through their high school years and beyond. It is not their fault that they have an older dad.

I searched for workouts and programs online, on YouTube, and library DVDs. In December 2014 I found 21 Day Fix and began my journey. I chose 21 Day Fix because I believed that I could do anything for three weeks and I could do anything that a female instructor could do. My wife and I began exercising together. I quickly realized that 21 days of exercise and a female instructor kicked my butt. But I was determined to make a change. I loved being able to exercise at home and with me wife. I loved not wondering what fitness move to do or how to use equipment. I also loved introducing healthier eating habits and a Shake to my daily eating habits. After pushing myself and eating better for three months, I got back to 175 lbs.

I have maintained my weight loss for over 2 years. I have finished 11 different programs and love every day of my life. I love the change and versatility that I get from the programs. I love how they grow with me and allow me to improve everything about myself. Our kids also love to exercise with me. Through fitness and healthy eating, I will be there for them as they get older and I get old. I will be there for them and myself. I will be able to do anything and everything physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially for and with them thanks to my decision to change, improve, and grow.
